Terms of Service

Acceptance of terms
By installing the ClipDesk extension or using the ClipDesk website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, uninstall the extension and do not use the service. ClipDesk is operated by Joshua Amado-DeCarvalho.
Subscriptions and billing
ClipDesk offers a Free tier plus paid Pro, Max, Team, and Founder Lifetime options. Recurring paid plans are billed through Stripe and renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date.
You may cancel at any time from the billing portal at clipdesk.io/billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain paid access until the period ends.
Refunds
Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact clipdesksupport@gmail.com within 14 days of the charge. ClipDesk will review billing disputes on a case-by-case basis.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use ClipDesk to:
- Store or transmit unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
- Circumvent security measures or attempt unauthorized access to ClipDesk systems
- Abuse the platform in ways that degrade service for other users
- Reverse-engineer or redistribute ClipDesk software outside its license terms
- Automate content capture in ways that violate third-party terms of service
No perfect extraction guarantee
ClipDesk captures web content on a best-effort basis. Some pages use techniques that prevent accurate extraction — heavy JavaScript rendering, paywalls, access restrictions, or dynamic content loading. ClipDesk does not guarantee accurate or complete capture of all web content.
PDF, scanned documents, and OCR limitations
PDF import uses a locally bundled text extraction engine. Text-based PDFs are processed on your device. Scanned or image-only PDFs cannot be text-extracted in this release — you will see a clear message in those cases. ClipDesk does not guarantee accurate extraction from all PDF formats. OCR (optical character recognition) is not included in ClipDesk 1.0.
User responsibility for local data
Your local clip library is stored in your Chrome browser. Clearing browser data, uninstalling Chrome, or resetting your browser profile will permanently delete your local clips. ClipDesk is not responsible for data lost due to browser data clearing or device failure. Back up your library regularly using the export feature inside the extension.
Chrome and browser extension limitations
ClipDesk is a Chrome extension and requires Google Chrome to function. It does not operate on restricted Chrome pages (chrome://, chrome-extension://, or pages where extensions are blocked by policy). Certain privileged pages may prevent capture or side panel operations.
Service availability
The local-first features of ClipDesk (capture, save, search, export) work without internet access. Cloud features (account, billing, sync) require access to ClipDesk backend services. ClipDesk does not guarantee continuous availability of backend services. Planned maintenance and outages will be communicated where practical.
Account termination
ClipDesk reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service. You may delete your account at any time by contacting clipdesksupport@gmail.com. Account deletion removes backend records within 30 days. Local clip data on your device is not affected by account deletion.
Limitation of liability
ClipDesk is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ClipDesk and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including loss of data from browser storage clearing or extension uninstall.
Changes to these terms
ClipDesk reserves the right to update these Terms of Service. Material changes will be communicated through the website or by email where practical. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
